When the car begins to move again, the gasoline engine picks up where it left off, and you’re on your way. In the past, similar systems have been referred to by some as “clunky” because of the noticeable noise and felt feedback from the starter. The 2025 X3’s mild hybrid system now powers this function and renders the transition essentially unnoticeable.
